Last Time Out…
- Preceding a weekend without action, the Friars are coming off a series split with No. 13 Arizona State (11-3-2), dropping their first contest 4-3 in overtime on Friday, Nov. 24 while emerging victorious 2-1 on Sunday, Nov. 26 in Tempe.
- The Sun Devils opened the scoring deep in the first period on Friday, as Alex Young broke through on a wrist shot to give Arizona State the 1-0 lead.
- Midway through the second period, Austen May capitalized on the power-play, lighting the lamp to give the forward his first goal of the season and the Friars the 1-1 tie. Nick Poisson and Jaroslav Chmelar found him on the effort.
- The Friars took a 2-1 lead just four and a half minutes later, as freshman Hudson Malinoski took the feed from Nick Poisson to tally his fifth score on the season.
- Arizona State's Young tallied his second goal of the night just over two minutes later, tying the game at 2-2.
- Late in the second period, Graham Gamache redirected a shot from May into the back of the net, giving the Friars the 3-2 advantage.
- Arizona State's Tyler Gratton knotted the game at the 7:33 mark in the third period, leveling the game at 3-3.
- In the overtime period, Arizona State's Dylan Jackson converted on a breakaway opportunity during a delayed penalty call to bring about the 4-3 final.
- Following a scoreless first period, Arizona State was the first to strike for the Sun Devils in Sunday's competition, as Dylan Jackson's shot caught a defender before ricocheting into the net to give the home team the 1-0 advantage.
- Later in the period, Jamie Englebert won the puck on the forecheck before beating ASU's Semptimphelter, giving the forward his third goal of the season and the Friars the 1-1 tie.
- With just over two minutes remaining in the middle frame, forward Riley Duran beat Semptimphelter on the five-hole to break the stalemate and give the Friars the 2-1 lead. Graham Gamache and Taige Harding found Duran on the score.
- Philip Svedebäck and Providence's penalty-kill unit stood tall in the third period, killing a 6-on-4 opportunity for the Sun Devils in the waning minutes of the third period en route to Sunday's 2-1 final.

Leaman Hits Milestone
Head Coach Nate Leaman earned his 249th career victory at Providence on Nov. 11, passing Lou Lamoriello as the program's winningest head coach all-time. Leaman sits at 387 career victories as a Division I head coach.
 
Changing of the Guard
The Friars have appointed Cam McDonald and Chase Yoder as co-captains and Craig Needham and Nick Poisson as alternate captains for the 2023-24 season.
 
Lockdown Defense
Philip Svedebäck has been one of the top goaltenders this year, allowing an average of 1.94 goals per game, good for eighth-fewest among qualifying netminders this season. Svedebäck also boasts a 1.47 GAA and .930 save percentage over eight Hockey East games this season.
 
Stock Watch
Through 15 games played, Jaroslav Chmelar (5-9-14) paces the Friars with 14 points on the season. Nick Poisson (3-9-12) immediately follows with 12 points on the year while Tanner Adams (4-7-11) rounds out the top three in points with 11.
 
Special Teams
Providence boasts one of the strongest penalty kill units across the NCAA this season, ranking as the seventh-most efficient unit with an 88.2% kill rate on extra-attacker opportunities.

- Through 16 games this season, forward Cutter Gauthier (12-8-20) paces the Eagles in goals with 12, followed by forward Ryan Leonard (10-7-17) with 10 scores and forwards Will Smith (7-15-22) and Oskar Jellvik (7-8-15) with seven goals each.
