PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Providence College women's soccer team is set to host St. John's in the first round of the 2023 BIG EAST Women's Soccer Tournament.

SCOUTING THE RED STORM... St. John's earned the fifth seed in the 2023 BIG EAST Tournamnet. The Red Storm have posted a 10-5-3 record on the season and a 5-4-1 confrence rank.
Jessica Garziano leads St. John's in goals (9) and assists (11). Lauryn Tran and Nicole Gordon are the only other Red Storm players with double digit points. Tran has recorded 14 points and Gordon has recorded 11 points. Goalkeeper Megan Sicall has started 17 games and has a save percentage of .701.
Players To Watch
Senior Meg Hughes (Rochester, Mass.) leads the Friars in scoring heading into the BIG EAST Tournament with 16 points on eight goals. Hughes ranks in the top-10 in six different statistical categories in the BIG EAST. Hughes ranks third in goals (8) and goals per game (0.47), fifth in points (16) and fourth in points per game (1.22). She also ranks fifth in shots (48) and shots per game (2.82).
In addition to Hughes, Kyla Gallagher (Farmington, Conn.) has recorded 10 points for the Friars' offense on four goals nd two assists. Kayla Briggs (Toronto, Canada) and Gillian Kenney (Hanover, Mass.) have each posted nine points. Briggs curently ranks second in the BIG EAST in assists per game (.45) and seventh in points per game (.94).
Bodmer and McElroy In Net
Senior Emma Bodmer (Monroe Township, N.J.) and graduate student Katherine McElory (Brookline, Mass.) occupy the first and fith spot for save percentages in the BIG EAST. Bodmer has a save percentage of (.905) while McElroy has a save percentage of .854.
