PROVIDENCE, R.I.- Providence College men's soccer will host UConn on Wednesday, Oct. 18 on Chapey Field at Anderson Stadium. Kick-off is slated for 7:00 p.m. The team will recognize five seniors and one graduate student as they take the field for their final regular game.

SCOUTING THE FRIARS…
• The Friars enter this match with a four-game undefeated streak, the team's longest this season.
• Providence has not conceded a goal since a 4-3 loss on Sept.29 versus Villanova. The last time the Friars posted a four-game shutout streak was in 2019 when they advanced to the Third Round of the NCAA Tournament.
• On Oct.14, Providence men's soccer upset No.5 Georgetown, 1-0. The Friars are currently 1-1-1 against top-five teams this season.
• On Monday, Oct. 16,
Lukas Burns (Cinnaminson, N.J.) and
Gevork Diarbian (Cranston, R.I.) received BIG EAST Weekly Honors. Burns was awarded BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Week following a season-high six save effort against Georgetown. Diarbian was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll after scoring the game-winning goal in the 75
th minute on Oct.14. Diarbian has two goals on the season, both scored against top-five teams.
• On Tuesday, Oct. 17, Burns was named to the College Soccer News Men's National Team of the Week.
• With five shutouts on the season, Burns is tied for second in the BIG EAST in shutouts and shutouts per game (.42). Burns has played all 1,080 minutes for the Friars, he has made 34 saves, posting a .660 save percentage so far this season.

Brendan McSorley (Randolph, N.J) leads the team in points (12) and goals (six). He is fourth in the BIG EAST in goals per game (.50), goals (six), and tied for fifth in points (12) and game-winning goals (two).
• Freshman
Pearse O'Brien (West Hartford, Conn.) has 11 points on the season. He is tied for fourth in the BIG EAST in assists (five) and stands in fifth in assists per game (.44).
• The Friars added 16 newcomers to the 2023 roster and eight of them have seen the starting lineup.
• Twelve players have recorded at least one point for the Friars, including two freshman and four transfers.
• Nine Friars have scored at least one goal this season, including six multi-goal scorers: Diarbian (two), McSorley (six), O'Brien (three),
Nathan Messer (London, England) (three),
Cole Dewhurst (Lancaster, Mass.) (two), and
Rodrigo Vaza (Torres Vedras) (two).
• Providence men's soccer was picked to finish second in the East Division of the BIG EAST Preseason Men's Soccer Coaches' Poll, earning one first-place vote and a total of 56 points overall.
SCOUTING THE HUSKIES….
• On Oct. 16, junior Scott Testori was named BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week after registering two goals and one assist in the 3-2 win against Marquette on Oct.14.
• The Huskies are 0-3 in road games this season.
• Testori leads UConn in points (13) and goals (five).
• Pierce Bateson has a teamo-high four assists on the season.
