NEW YORK, N.Y. - Providence College Women's soccer players,
Kayla Briggs (Toronto, Canada) and
Avery Snead (Wrentham, Mass.) earned BIG EAST Weekly Awards. Briggs was named Offensive Player of the Week and Snead was named to the Weekly Honor Roll. The Friars went 1-0-1 on the week, defeating Marquette (1-0) and tying No. 22 Georgetown (1-1).
Briggs, who earned Offensive Player of the Week, returned to action this week for the first time since Sept. 7 and picked up right where she left off. She recorded the game-winning goal against Marquette and assisted on the goal against No. 22 Georgetown. Briggs now has nine points through eight games on two goals and five assists.
Snead, who was named to the Weekly Honor Roll, helped lead the defense to allowing one goal in the two games. Snead registered 180 minutes through the two games and added another four shots.
Providence will return to action on Thursday, October 19 at home against Xavier at 6:00 p.m.
