Men’s Soccer Prepares For No.5 Georgetown

It will mark the Friars’ third game this season versus a top-five team.
PROVIDENCE, R.I.- Providence men's soccer will host No.5 Georgetown on Saturday, Oct. 14. The match will be played on Chapey Field at Anderson Stadium. Kick-off is set for 7:00p.m. The last time PC played Georgetown at home, the Friars upset the then No.1 ranked Hoyas, 3-0, in 2021. Since 1996, the Friars have registered a 1-1-1 mark versus the Hoyas when Georgetown is ranked in the top-five and playing in Providence.

SCOUTING THE FRIARS…
• The Friars enter this match with a three-game undefeated streak.
• Providence is coming off a, 0-0, tie at St. John's on Oct. 7.
• Brendan McSorley (Randolph, N.J) leads the team in points (12) and goals (six). He is fourth in the BIG EAST in goals per game (.55), goals (six), game-winning goals (two), and tied for fifth in points (12).
•Freshman midfielder Pearse O'Brien (West Hartford, Conn.) is tied for third in the BIG EAST in assists (five) and he is fourth in assists per game (.45).
