SCOUTING THE FRIARS… Providence enters the weekend with a 7-2-3 overall record and a 2-0-3 record in the BIG EAST. The Friars are currently in third place in the BIG EAST with nine points. Most recently, the Friars tied DePaul (1-1) on Thursday, October 5 in Chicago, Ill. and tied St. John's (2-2) on Sunday, October 8 in Queens, N.Y.

Meg Hughes (Rochester, Mass.) leads Providence's offense 14 points through 12 games. Hughes currently ranks third in the BIG EAST in goals with seven. She now ranks in the top-six all-time in career scoring at Providence College with 57 points.

Kyla Gallagher (Stamford, Conn.) has nine points for the Friars on four goals and an assist.
Gillian Kenney (Hanover, Mass.) has eight points for the Friars' offense on four goals.
Goalkeepers
Emma Bodmer (Monroe Township, N.J.) and
Katherine McElroy (Brookline, Mass.) occupy the number two and four spots for save percentage in the BIG EAST. Bodmer has a save percentage of .889 while McElroy has a save percentage of .861.
THREE MEMBERS OF THE FRIARS QUALIFY FOR THE 2024 FIFA UNDER-20 WORLD CUP… Two sophomores,
Ella McBride(Peterborough, Canada) and
Thaea Mouratidis (Scarborough, Canada), and incoming freshman
Kayla Briggs (Toronto, Canada) have qualified for the 2024 FIFA Under-20 World Cup with Canada Soccer's Under-20 Women's National Team. The team earned a third-place finish at the Concacaf Women's Under-20 Championship after defeating Costa Rica, 5-3, in the third-place game.
MEG HUGHES NAMED TO PRESEASON ALL-BIG EAST TEAM… Hughes was the lone Friar to receive preseason recognition as a member of the Preseason ALL-BIG EAST Team. This is Hughes' third year in a row being named to the Preseason ALL-BIG EAST Team. Hughes has played 62 career games for the Friars and has totaled 57 points on 22 goals and 13 assists. She currently ranks sixth on the Friars' all-time scoring list.
MARRYN GRUHN NAMED BIG EAST FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK…Gruhn, who was named BIG EAST Freshman of the Week, was the lone goal scorer for the Friars in their tie against Butler. Gruhn scored her goal with one second left in the first half to beat the buzzer.
MEG HUGHES NAMED TO BIG EAST HONOR ROLL…Hughes, who was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll, led Providence with two goals over their win against Creighton. Hughes' two goals now rank her in the top-seven all-time in career scoring at Providence College with 55 points. This marked her second two-goal game of her career.
NEWCOMERS…Providence welcomes nine student-athletes to the program this season including three graduate transfers and six freshmen. The three graduate transfers are
Corinne Dente(Stamford, Conn.),
Emma Derry(Leominster, Mass.), and
Katherine McElroy (Brookline, Mass.). Dente played 37 career games at forward for University of Louisville totaling two goals and one assist. Derry started 50 of her 59 career games on the backline for the University of Rhode Island where she registered two assists. McElroy was a four-year member of the women's soccer program at the University of Michigan where she appeared in goal for five games during the 2022 season.

SERIES HISTORY AGAINST MARQUETTE… The Friars hold a 4-12-3 record against the Golden Eagles. Last season, the Providence tied Marquette 1-1 in Milwaukee, Wisc. The Friars haven't lost to the Golden Eagles since 2016.
SCOUTING THE GOLDEN EAGLES… Marquette enters the weekend with a 5-6-3 overall record and a 2-2-1 record in the BIG EAST. Last week, they lost to Seton Hall 1-0.
Taylor Schad leads Marquette with five points on two goals and an assist. She is followed by Josie Bidea and Hailey Block who each have four points. Goalkeeper Mikki Easter has started 12 games for the Golden Eagles and has a save percentage of .780.
SERIES HISTORY AGAINST GEORGETOWN… The Friars hold a 3-16-5 record against the Hoyas. Last season, Providence lost to Georgetown, 1-0. The Friars haven't won in Washington, D.C. against the Hoyas since 1996.
SCOUTING THE HOYAS… Georgetown enters the weekend with a 7-1-6 overall record and a 3-0-3 record in the BIG EAST. Last week, they tied Xavier (0-0) and Seton Hall (1-1).
Natalie Means, Henley Tippins and Allie Winstanley all lead the Hoyas' offense with six points. Goalkeeper Allie Augur currently ranks first in shutouts (8), save percentage (.919) and goals against average (.27) in the BIG EAST.
