Men’s And Women’s Track And Field Set To Host Friar Invitational

The meet is set for 5:00 p.m. on Friday, April 8 at Ray Treacy Track at Hendricken Field.
PROVIDENCE, R.I.- The Providence College men's and women's track and field teams host the Friar Invitational on Friday, April 8 at 5:00 p.m. at Ray Treacy Track at Hendricken Field in Providence, R.I. The meet will feature 14 men's and women's teams.
On the men's side, AJ Ernst (Marblehead, Mass.) and Liam Back (New Plymouth, New Zealand) will run in the mile. Ernst and Back will try to run a sub-four minute mile for the first time at the Ray Treacy Track. Ryan Gallagher (Briarcliff Manor, N.Y.), David McGlynn (Waterford, Ireland) and Michael Morgan (Sligo, Ireland) will run in the 5,000-meter and Josh Lewin (West Chester, Pa.) and Ryan Jendzejec (Chappaqua, N.Y.) will run in the 800 meters. Brett Lehman (Lower Gwynedd, Pa.) will appear in the 400-meters and Pat Thygesen (Brisbane, Australia) will compete in the steeplechase for the first time of the season.
Headlining the women's team is Shannon Flockhart (Longstanton, England), Kimberly May (Auckland, New Zealand), Lily Tuck (Sunderland, Canada), Laura Mooney (Cappincur, Ireland) and Orla O'Connor (Waterford, Ireland). All five runners will run under distance on Friday night. Flockhart and May will run the mile while Tuck will run in the 3,000-meter. Mooney and O'Connor will be running in the 5,000-meter. Meg Hughes (Rochester, N.Y.) is also competing for Providence in the 400-hurdles after a record-breaking performance at Bryant's Black and Gold Invitational last weekend. Alex O'Neill (Ennis, Ireland) and Halle Atkinson (Franklin, Mass.) will appear in the 800-meters.
