PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Providence College men's and women's track and field teams open up their seasons at the Raleigh on March 24-26. The event will be held at the Paul Derr Track and Field Facility in Raleigh, N.C. The Friars will look to post qualifying times for the opening round of the NCAA Championship in Bloomington, Ind.

On the men's side,
AJ Ernst (Marblehead, Mass.) and
Liam Back (New Plymouth, New Zealand) will race for the Friars in the 1,500-meters.
Ryan Gallagher (Briarcliff Manor, N.Y.),
Pat Thygesen (Brisbane, Australia), and
Michael Morgan (Sligo, Ireland) will compete in the 5,000-meters and
David McGlynn (Waterford, Ireland) will race in the 10,000-meters.
Ryan Jendzejec (Chappaqua, N.Y.) and
Josh Lewin (West Chester, Pa.) round out the top runners for the Friars and will compete in the 800-meters.
Headlining the Friar women will be
Alex O'Neill (Ennis, Ireland) and
Halle Atkinson (Franklin, Mass.) in the 800-meters and
Shannon Flockhart (Longstanton, England) and
Kimberley May (Auckland, New Zealand) in the 1,500-meters.
Orla O'Connor (Waterford, Ireland) and
Lilly Tuck (Sunderland, Canada) will race in the 10,000 and 5,000-meters, respectively, and
Meg Hughes (Rochester, Mass.) will compete in the 400-meter hurdles.
