FAIRFIELD, CONN. – Providence College rallied from a nine-point deficit in the fourth quarter with the help of a 26-0 run to claim a 64-52 victory at Sacred Heart on Dec. 20 in Fairfield, Conn. Five Friars finished with double figures in the scoring column as the team improved to 9-5 overall. Sacred Heart dropped to 2-9 on the season.
1ST QUARTER:
•
Brynn Farrell scored five of the Friars' first 10 points heading into the first media timeout to give Providence a 10-9 lead (4:17).
•
Kylee Sheppard came out of the timeout to score her second bucket to the game to give PC a 12-9 lead, but Sacred Heart used a 5-0 spurt to take a 14-12 edge.
• The game was tied, 14-14, at the first intermission.
2ND QUARTER:
• Providence started the second quarter with a 6-0 spurt to take a 20-14 lead.
• The Friars scored four-straight points to gain an eight point lead (26-18) with 3:49 to play.
• PC went into the locker room at halftime with a 29-25 advantage.

Olivia Olsen and Farrell each scored seven points to pace the offense.
• Sacred Heart outscored Providence 10-2 in second-chance points.
3RD QUARTER:
• Sacred Heart used an 8-2 scoring advantage to gain a 33-31 lead.
• The Pioneers outscored the Friars 8-1 in the final 2:52 of the third to carry a 45-38 lead into the final frame.
• Providence was outscored 20-9 overall in the quarter.
4TH QUARTER:
•
Grace Efosa fueled a 6-0 Friars run with four points to get Providence within one (47-46), forcing a Sacred Heart timeout (6:04).
• The run extended to 26-0, giving Providence a 64-47 lead with just over a minute to play.
• Six different players scored for PC in the offensive outburst.
• Sacred Heart scored five points in the final 15 seconds of the game to make the final 64-52.
• Providence outscored Sacred Heart 26-7 in the fourth quarter overall.
NOTES:
• Providence concluded its non-conference schedule with a 9-2 record. It marks the most regular-season non-conference wins since the 2019-20 campaign (9-3).
• Providence evened the series with Sacred Heart, 4-4. The victory marked the first for the team at the William H. Pitt Center, having dropped the previous two games played at the facility.
• Five Friars scored in double figures for the third time this season.
• Sheppard posted her first career double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds. She also contributed four assists, two blocked shots and two steals.
• Farrell finished with a season-high 13 points on 4-9 shooting, including a 3-5 effort from beyond the arc.
• Efosa hit for 12 points on 6-10 shooting and added four rebounds and two steals.
• Olsen narrowly missed a double-double with 11 points, eight rebounds and two blocked shots.
• Crooms rounded out the list of double-digit scorers with 10 points and she added a game-high six assists to go along with five rebounds and one blocked shot.

• The Friars return to action on Wednesday, Dec. 28 against DePaul. The game will be played at Wintrust Arena in Chicago, Ill. and is scheduled to tip-off at 7:00 p.m. (ET).
