PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Providence College men's hockey freshman Philip Svedebäck (Växjö, Sweden) was named Hockey East Goaltender of the Week as announced by the league on Monday (Oct. 17).
A fourth round selection (117
th overall) by the Boston Bruins in 2021, Svedebäck posted a 2-0-0 record with a 1.50 GAA and .947 save percentage in two victories over Clarkson and No. 7/8 Northeastern last week. He turned away 24 shots in Providence's 5-2 win over Clarkson on Oct. 13 and followed that up with a 30-save performance on the road in a 2-1 win at Northeastern.
Overall, Svedebäck has registered a 3-0-0 record with a 1.33 GAA and .945 save percentage, stopping 69-of-73 shots he has faced.
