BOSTON, MASS. - The Providence College men's track, and field team competed at the John Thomas Terrier Invitational on Sunday, Jan. 30.
Ryan Jendzejec (Chappaqua, N.Y.) and Josh Lewin (West Chester, Pa.) both had top-10 finishes for the Friars and their respective events. Jendzejec had a solid race in the 1000-meters, finishing fourth in a time of 2:23.82 in a field of 41. Lewin finished eighth in the 800-meters (1:50.18).
Other Notable Performances:
Freshman Brett Lehman (Lower Gwynedd, Pa.) tabbed a 27th-place finish for the men (50.14) in the 400-meter.
In the 3000-meter, Abdel Laadjel (Lucan, Ireland) and Matt Lepine (Red Bank, N.J.) finished 24th and 51st, respectively. Laadjel finished in 8:10.84 while Lepine finished in a time of 8:26.71. Freshman Michael Morgan (Sligo, Ireland) ran unattached from Providence and finished 21st in a time of 8:08.08, the first in his heat.
Liam Back (New Plymouth, New Zealand) finished the mile in a time a 4:00.32, tabbing a ninth-place finish in his heat.
The men's and women's track and field teams will race next at the Valentine Invitational on Feb. 11 and 12in Boston, Mass.
