Men’s Soccer Announces Incoming Players For Fall 2021 Season

Nine freshman will join the Friars Fall 2021 season.

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Providence College men's soccer Head Coach Craig Stewart announced today (June 7,2021) the team's incoming players for the 2021 season. Cole Dewhurst (Lancaster, Mass.), Thomas Tulgar (Bergenfield, N.J.), Colton Madeira (Taunton, Mass.), Austin Rome (Bowie, Md.), Alec Lowe (Rutheford, N.J.), Nathan Lagoa (Rehoboth, Mass.), Noah Smith (Matthews, N.C.), Diego Garcia (Wilmington, Mass), and Colby Campos (Swansea, Mass.) make up the incoming freshman.
 
Newcomers -  
 
Rome joins the Friars after graduating from DeMatha Catholic High School. The 6-2, 175-pound center back played for the Baltimore Armour U17 USSDA Team in 2019-2020. He ranks 35th among all defenders in the class of 2021.
 
Dewhurst attended Connections Academy and played one year for the New England Revolution Youth Academy. Standing at 6-2 and weighing 160 pounds, the center back started in 82 of the 92 games he appeared in, and totaled four goals and four assists.
 
Campos graduated from Joseph Case High School and was an SCC All-Star (2020,2021). Standing at 6-2, 160 pounds, Campos was named All-State in 2020 and holds school records in the 100-meters and 200-meters for track.
 
Garcia joins the Friars after graduating from Buckingham Browne & Nichols, and spent his senior year as team captain. The 6-1, 160 pound, left back earned All-NEPSAC, All-NEPSAA, and All-ISL honors during his high school career.
 
Smith graduated from K12 Private Academy and played for Charlotte Independence Pro Academy U19 Team in 2020-2021. The 6-0, 170-pound defender was ranked 51st in National Player Rankings among all defenseman and recorded 53 goals in his USSDA career.
 
Lagoa, a 5-10, 160-pound midfielder graduated from La Salle Academy. During his senior season, Lagoa was named team captain and guided La Salle to Rhode Island Division 1 High School Championships in 2017 and 2020.
 
Madeira graduated from Taunton High School and played for the New England Revolution Youth Academy in 2020. The 6-1, 170-pound center back set the record for most tackles in a game during his time at Taunton.
 
Lowe joins the Friars after graduating from Seton Hall Prep. The 6-2, 185-pound goalkeeper spent 2020 with the New York Soccer Club. Lowe earned scholastic honors for three years.
 
Tulgar, a 5-10, 152-pound forward graduated from Bergenfield High School and played for the New York Red Bulls USSDA Team in 2020. Tulgar was ranked third in the country for goals scored in 2017 and received the Golden Boot: Next Generation Trophy, in Salzburg Austria.
