Men's Basketball To Play At Wisconsin In The Gavitt Games

Friars and the Badgers will play on Nov. 15 in Madison, Wis.
PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The BIG EAST and the Big Ten conferences announced the dates and matchups today (June 24) for the sixth annual Gavitt Games. The Friars are scheduled to play at Wisconsin on Monday, November 15. Game times and network assignments will be announced at a later date.
The Gavitt Games is a unique early-season series played between the two conferences and named in honor of Hall of Famer Dave Gavitt, founder of the BIG EAST and the former Friar head coach. The Gavitt Games are played in the first full week of the college basketball's regular season. Â
The Friars are 3-1 all-time versus Wisconsin. In the most recent meeting between the two teams, Providence defeated the Badgers, 59-57, on December 23, 1996 in Madison, Wis.
