Learfield and Cumulus extend deal to be the home of Friar basketball through the 2027-28 season.
PROVIDENCE, R.I.- Learfield's Providence Friars Sports Properties announced today a two-year broadcast extension agreement with Cumulus Media Providence. This agreement will ensure that Cumulus Media Providence will continue to be the flagship station for Friar men's basketball games, as well as the Bryan Hodgson Radio Shows each season.
The Friars have a longstanding relationship with Cumulus as WPRO has been the flagship station for men's basketball since 2018. The new agreement extends through the 2027-28 season. This agreement also includes live broadcasts of Friar men's hockey games and the Nate Leaman Radio Show.

New to the partnership this year, Kevin McNamara, a long-time Rhode Island media personality and host of the KevinMc Sports Hour weeknights from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM on NewsTalk 630AM/99.7FM WPRO and WPRV-AM 790 The Score, will host the Bryan Hodgson Radio Show.
The Bryan Hodgson Radio Show will air 10 times during the season with the first show debuting on Monday, September 14 live from the Friar Season Ticket Holder Party at Bally's Lincoln Casino Resort at 100 Twin River Road, Lincoln, R.I. from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Fans will continue to hear the longtime voices of the Friars John Rooke and Joe Hassett call all home and away men's basketball game action. Basketball games and the Bryan Hodgson Radio Show will remain on WPRO-AM 630 (Newstalk Radio 630) and WEAN-FM 99.7. Men's hockey officially can be heard on Cumulus-owned WPRV-AM 790 (790 The Score). Fans can hear the entire slate of hockey programming, including Mike Logan handling all play-by-play, and the seasonal Nate Leaman Radio Show. All men's hockey will be on The Score.
