Men’s Basketball Announces 2026-27 BIG EAST Conference Schedule

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Providence College men's basketball team's 2026-27 BIG EAST schedule was announced today (Sept. 14). The game times and the television broadcast assignments will be announced at a later date. The Friars will play a 20-game league schedule with Providence playing each of the other 10 conference teams once at home and once on the road. Providence will play its BIG EAST home opener against Butler on Saturday, December 12 at the Amica Mutual Pavilion (the AMP) in Providence, R.I.
Providence's other BIG EAST home matchups will be versus St. John's on Wednesday, December 30; versus Xavier on Saturday, January 9; versus UConn on Wednesday, January 20; versus Seton Hall on Saturday, January 30; versus Marquette on Wednesday, February 10; versus DePaul on Saturday, February 13; versus Villanova on Wednesday, February 17; versus Georgetown on Tuesday, February 23 and versus Creighton on Saturday, March 6.
The team will play 10 league road games. The Friars' BIG EAST road opener will be at Villanova on Tuesday, December 22. The team's other nine league road games will be at DePaul on Saturday, January 2; at Marquette on Tuesday, January 5; at St. John's on Wednesday, January 13; at Georgetown on Saturday, January 23; at Butler on Wednesday, January 27; at Creighton on Wednesday, February 3; at Seton Hall on Saturday, February 20; at UConn on Saturday, February 27 and at Xavier on Wednesday, March 3.
The team will open the regular season against Maine on Monday, Nov. 2 at the Amica Mutual Pavilion. The Friars will host two exhibition games at the Amica Mutual Pavilion, beginning with Pittsburgh on Saturday, Oct. 17 at 2 p.m., followed by Georgia Tech on Saturday, Oct. 24 at 12 p.m.
