Abbey Wheeler Named BIG EAST Women’s Track Athlete of the Week

Wheeler placed fifth in the 5,000-meter at the Raleigh Relays (15:46.87).
New York, N.Y. – Providence College women's track and field runner Abbey Wheeler (Elmira, N.Y.) was named BIG EAST Women's Track Athlete of the Week on March 30th, following her performance at the Raleigh Relays in Raleigh, N.C. on March 25-27.
The 2021 USTFCCA Northeast Region Women's Track Athlete of the Year took fifth overall, fourth among Division I competitors in the 5,000-meter (15:46.87). Wheeler's time is the best in the BIG EAST.
The women's track and field team compete next at the Ocean State Invitational on April 9th at the Ray Treacy Track at Hendricken Field in Providence, R.I.
