PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Providence College field hockey team will travel to Philadelphia, Pa. to take on Temple in BIG EAST action on March 27 and March 28.
SCOUTING PROVIDENCE:
• The Friars enter the weekend with an 0-4 overall record (0-4 BIG EAST), with two losses each to Connecticut and Quinnipiac.
• In the most recent game on March 21, the Friars fell to Quinnipiac, 2-0, despite decisive advantage in shots (16-3), shots on goal (9-2) and penalty corners (13-2).

Niamh Gowing leads the Friars in scoring with one goal and has taken just six shots on the season (three shots on goal).
• In goals, the Friars have used
Camryn Kelbaugh for 180 minutes of action. She owns a 3.00 goals against average and 0.571 save percentage.
Asia Porter has played 60 minutes in the cage as a rookie and has a 2.00 goals against average.
• The Friars were picked to finish fourth in the 2020-21 Preseason BIG EAST Coaches' Poll.
• Babineau was named a unanimous selection to the Preseason All-BIG EAST Team. Last season, she tallied eight points on two goals and four assists.
• The Friars' leading returning scorers are senior forward
Olivia Ward (Havelock North, New Zealand) Gowing. Ward finished with 10 points on five goals, while Gowing notched 10 points on four goals and two assists.
SCOUTING TEMPLE:
• Temple enters the weekend with a 4-6 overall record, including a 1-5 mark in BIG EAST play.
• The Owls' lone victory in the BIG EAST came against Villanova on March 6 (1-0).
• Temple has earned victories in two of its last three games, defeating Monmouth (2-1, OT) and Drexel (1-0) before dropping a 4-0 decision at Delaware in its most recent outing.
• Veronika Novakova leads the Owls in scoring with four points on two goals and two assists. Cassie Romanczuk, Taylor Alba and Dani Batze each have three points on one goal and one assist.
• Cristina Carotenuto has played 571 minutes in the cage and owns a 1.23 goals against average and a 0.767 save percentage. She also has recorded three shut-out victories.
