Kingston, R.I.- The Providence College women's indoor track team competed at the Mackal Field House in Kingston, R.I. on Thursday, Feb. 25. The tri-meet included Providence, Rhode Island and Northeastern.
The Friars took three of the top first four spots in the 3,000-meter.
Abbey Wheeler led the way, finishing first at 9:17.17. Wheeler's time ranks top-15 in the nation. In third and fourth was
Laura Mooney (Cappincur, Ireland) and
Maria Coffin (Annapolis, Md.), respectively. Mooney finished at 9:41.39 and Coffin crossed the line at 9:42.02.
In the mile,
Tessa Hunt (Wellington, New Zealand) finished first (5:06.42).
Alex O'Neill (Ennis, Ireland) led the 800-meter wire-to-wire, finishing in 2:13.38. Fellow Friar
Halle Atkinson (Franklin, Mass.) crossed the line in second (2:17.77).
The DMR team of
Shannon Flockhart (Longstanton, England),
Delaney Mick (Hopkinton, Mass.),
Dana Lowney (Easton, Mass.) and
Caroline Fischer (Merrimack, N.H.) finished first, crossing the line in 12:30.55.
Other notable performances:
-Freshman
Hawa Grear (Providence, R.I.) and
Emme Conan (Skanteateles, N.Y.) finished third and fifth, respectively in the 60-meter. Grear finished in 8.23 and Conan in 8.38.

Catherine Stolbof placed fourth in the 400-meter (1:01.45).
-Mick was the first Friar to cross the line in the 300-meter in fifth place (44:01).
