Providence, R.I.– The Providence College volleyball fell to Xavier in four sets, 1-3, during BIG EAST regular-season play on Nov. 7 in Providence, R.I.
1st SET:
• Xavier took the first set, 25-18, with help from a 7-1 run in the middle of the set.

Shaliyah Rhoden and
Jennifer Leitman led the Friars with three kills each in the first set.
•
Allison Barber paced the Friars in digs, with six.
2nd SET:
• The Friars and Musketeers were back-and-forth in the second set, with eight lead changes and 13 tied scores. Providence ultimately took the set, 26-24, after fighting back from a 13-19 deficit.
• Rhoden tallied a team-highs in kills, with five.

Mackenzie Taylor registered nine digs.
•
Sammie Ruggles tallied 16 assists for the Friars.
3rd SET:
• Xavier led for the entirety of the third set, closing it out at 25-19.
• Leitman put up a set-high seven kills on 12 attempts (.417).
• Taylor tallied eight digs for Providence.
4th SET:
• The fourth set consisted of just one tied score before the Musketeers took the set, 25-16.
• Leitman recorded a team-high eight digs.
• Barber and Ruggles tallied five and four assists each, respectively.
NOTES / HIGHLIGHTS:
• Leitman led the Friars with 17 kills in the match off of 47 attempts at the net (.213).
• Ruggles recorded 33 assists and added 7 digs and two kills.
• Taylor finished the night with a team-high 19 digs while also contributing three assists.
WHAT'S NEXT:
• Providence hits the road next week for two BIG EAST matches against Villanova and Georgetown. The Friars face the Wildcats on Friday, Nov. 12 at 7:00 p.m. before facing off against the Hoyas on Saturday, Nov. 13 at 2:30 p.m.
