St. John’s converted on a penalty kick in the 63rd minute.
QUEENS, N.Y. – The Providence College women's soccer team fell to St. John's, 1-0, on Sunday Oct. 17 in Queens, N.Y. This marked the Friars' seventh game in nine matches that was determined by a one-goal decision.

GAME FLOW & NOTES
-At the end of the first half, the game was tied at 0-0.
-Providence took five shots in the first half, three of them being on goal.
-The Friars held a 5-0 edge in corner kicks in the first half.
-In the 63rd minute, freshman Maria Paveglio (Lake Orion, Mich.) drew a foul in the box awarding the Red Storm with a penalty kick.
-St. John's Zsani Kajan converted the pentalty kick to give the Red Storm a 1-0 advantage.
-Providence had a 9-5 shot advantage, but could not get by St. John's goalkeeper, Naya Lipkens, who made five saves on the day.
-The Friars will return to action on Thursday, Oct. 21 against UConn in Providence, R.I.
