It marks the second year that he earned All-BIG EAST accolades.

NEW YORK, N.Y. -  It was announced today (March 8) that Providence College senior forward Alpha Diallo (New York, N.Y.) earned All-BIG EAST Second Team honors.  For Diallo it marks the second consecutive season that he has been named All-BIG EAST as he earned second team honors in 2018-19.

Diallo has had a strong senior season and helped lead the team to a program-best 12 BIG EAST wins (12-6) and a fourth-place finish.  Diallo is leading the team in scoring (14.1 ppg) and rebounding (7.8 rpg).  His 7.8 rebounds ranks fifth in the BIG EAST in overall action.  Diallo has recorded nine double-doubles this season.  He also posted a career-best 35-point, 10-rebound effort in the Friars' 74-71 win over Seton Hall on February 15.

For his career, Diallo has recorded 1,591 career points in 130 games (11.7 ppg).  He ranks 14th all-time in scoring at Providence.

In August, Diallo helped lead Team USA to Bronze Medal at the Pan Am Games.  He led the team in scoring (15.0 ppg) and rebounging 5.6 (rpg).

The Friars will return to action on Thursday, March 12 versus the No. 5 seed Butler Bulldogs (22-9, 10-8) in the BIG EAST Quarterfinals at Madison Square Garden at 2:30 p.m. on FS1.
