PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Providence College men's basketball Head Coach Bryan Hodgson announced today (June 8) that 6-7 small forward Clyde Walters (Pinson, Ala.) has signed an athletic aid agreement to attend Providence in 2026-27.
"Clyde is a player that I have known for many years and he will be a great addition to our roster," Hodgson said. "I have followed his development since I was an assistant coach and I feel that Clyde has a tremendous upside. Over the last few years, he has played at a national level of prep basketball for Brewster Academy and Overtime Elite. We believe he is an athletic, versatile player, who will excel on both ends of the court."
Walters helped lead Overtime Elite RWE to a 12-6 mark in 2025-26. He averaged 6.8 points, 4.2 rebounds and 1.7 assists in 18 games. Walters shot 42.3 percent from the field. He also shot 37.5 percent from three-point territory and 84.2 percent from the free-throw line. Walters started 13 of the 18 games he played, while averaging 19.3 minutes per contest. He recorded seven games with 10 or more points, including a season-high 19 points on November 16.
Prior to joining OTE, Walters played his sophomore season for Brewster Academy, where he helped lead the team to a record of 28-5. He helped Brewster earn a spot at Chipotle Nationals, where the squad advanced to the semifinals. Walters spent the summer of 2025 playing for the Alabama Fusion on the Nike EYBL Circuit where he averaged 14.1 points, 7.6 rebounds and 4.1 assists.
Walters is a consensus four-star, top-100 recruit, according to ESPN.com, Rivals and 247Sports. He is ranked No. 84 by Rivals.com, No. 96 by ESPN.com and No. 99 by 247Sports. Also, according to ESPN.com, he is ranked as the No. 1 recruit in Alabama and No. 20 nationally for forwards.
