Men’s and Women’s Indoor Track Race at URI Coaches Tribute

Halle Atkinson, Bridget Mitchell and Nick Carleo won their respective events.

KINGSTON, R.I.- The Providence College men's and women's indoor track teams competed in Kingston, R.I. at the URI Coaches Tribute on Saturday, Feb. 8.

Halle Atkinson (Franklin, Mass.) and Bridget Mitchell (Milton, Mass.) won their respective events for the Friar women. Mitchell finished first and set a personal-best in the 800-meter run (2:18.93) and Atkinson took home first in the 1000-meter run (2:56.71).

On the men's side, Nick Carleo (Newburyport, Mass.) raced to a first-place finish in the 800-meter run (1:55.37).

Other Notable Performances:

Tessa Hunt (Wellington, New Zealand) set a personal-best in her second-place finish in the mile (5:05.74)

Alex O'Neill (Ennis, Ireland) finished third in the 500-meter run in her personal-best time of 1:20.78.

Peter Rindfuss (Hamburg, N.Y.) placed second in the 3000-meter run (8:50.17).

The Friars compete next on Friday, Feb 14 – Saturday, Feb. 15 at the David Hemery Valentine Invitational in Boston, Mass.
