Jack Dugan and
Tyce Thompson were named three of the 23 semifinalists for the 68th Walter Brown Award, given to the best American-born Division I college hockey player in New England, on Feb. 3.
- Eleven teams are represented in the candidate pool, with 17 of the nominees coming from Hockey East institutions.

The Providence sophomore class ranks first nationally among second-year classes in scoring with 122 points on 37 goals and 85 assists - 14 points ahead of second-place Michigan Tech. The Friars' freshmen class is fifth nationally among other rookie classes in scoring with 77 points on 31 goals and 46 assists. Freshmen have accounted for eight of the Friars' 14 game-winning goals this season.

Ford Makes U.S. National Junior Team Roster
Freshman
Parker Ford earned a spot on the final 23-player roster for Team USA at the 2020 World Junior Championship that began on Thursday (Dec. 26) in the Czech Republic. Team USA fell to Finland, 1-0, on Jan. 2 in the Quarterfinals. Ford met the Friars in Las Vegas on Jan. 4 after traveling over 8,200 miles across 10 different time zones, where he tallied a goal in the 2-2 tie against Cornell.

SERIES HISTORY VS. VERMONT
- This weekend marks the first matchups of the season between the two schools. Vermont claimed last season's series by virtue of a win and a tie at Schneider Arena last February. Overall, the Friars are 0-2-2 in the last four meetings.
- Providence had a six-game unbeaten streak at Gutterson Fieldhouse snapped in the last meeting in Burlington on Feb. 3, 2018.
- The Friars are 14-15-2 all-time at Gutterson Fieldhouse between the schools. Providence went 1-0-1 in two games in Burlington during the Catamount Cup in December.
SCOUTING THE CATAMOUNTS
- Vermont enters the weekend winless in Hockey East play (0-15-2) with an overall record of 3-20-4.
- The Catamounts have four double-digit point scorers this season: Andrew Lucas (4-9-13), Jacques Bouquot (3-9-12), Ace Cowans (6-5-11) and Christian Evers (6-4-10).
- Senior goaltender Stefanos Lekkas has started 25 of 27 games for the Catamounts this season in posting a 2.99 GAA and .908 save percentage. Lekkas has had the Friars' number over the last three seasons, posting a 3-1-2 record with a 2.14 GAA and .939 save percentage. He stopped 79-of-81 shots on goal last February in Providence.Â
