Dugan Scores Twice, No. 9/8 Men's Hockey Falls Late at No. 13 Northeastern, 4-3

BOSTON, Mass.Jack Dugan scored twice, but the No. 9/8 Providence College men's hockey team was edged late by No. 13 Northeastern, 4-3, on Friday night at Matthews Arena.

NOTES
- For the third-consecutive game, the Friars surrendered the first goal as the Huskies struck for a pair late in the first period. Tyler Madden and Matt Filipe gave Northeastern a two-goal cushion after 20 minutes.
-  Providence got on the board during a 5-on-3 advantage on Jack Dugan's eighth strike of the season.
- The Friars had a great chance to equalize after Northeastern's Biagio Lerario was given a five-minute major and game misconduct, the Huskies' penalty kill limited the Friars' chances.
- Aidan McDonough gave the Huskies a 3-1 led at 13:08.
- Patrick Moynihan's 10th of the season brought the Friars back within one just 2:09 later to make it 3-2 after two periods.
- Dugan's second of the night tied the game up at 3-3 just 2:28 into the final frame.
- Zach Solow cashed in with the game-winning power-play goal for the Huskies with just 5:30 to play in regulation.
- Thompson extended his point streak to eight games with an assist. He pushed his season point total to 38. He now has two separate point streaks of eight games this season.
- Dugan added to his NCAA-leading point total (44) with his eighth and ninth goas of the season. It was the first career multi-goal game for Dugan.
- Providence surrendered the first goal for just the fifth time in 26 games this season.
- Patrick Moynihan recorded his seventh multi-point game of the season.
- The Friars' dropped to 6-2-2 on the road this season, both losses coming at Matthews Arena.
