Last Time Out
- The No. 12 Friars defeated the UConn Huskies, 2-1, on Saturday, Jan. 11 at Schneider Arena. Sophomore Tyce Thompson led the Friars offensively with two assists.  Freshman defenseman Max Crozier registered what proved to be the winning goal just 48 seconds into the third period. The Friars' other goal was scored by Patrick Moynihan at 5:37 of the first period on a power play. Providence extended its unbeaten streak to seven games (5-0-2) with the win.
 
Thompson Earns First Hockey East Player of the Week Recognition
- Tyce Thompson was named Hockey East Player of the Week for the first time on Monday after posting four points over two wins against AIC and UConn last week.
- Thompson recorded a power-play goal and the shorthanded game-winning at AIC last Thursday, before assisting on both of Providence's goals against UConn in the Friars' 2-1 win on Saturday.
 
Dynamic Duo
- Providence's Jack Dugan and Tyce Thompson are ranked first and second, respectively, in total point production in the NCAA so far this season. Dugan leads the nation with 41 points and 34 assists. Thompson's 17 goals are tied for the lead among all NCAA players.
- Dugan has registered 14 multi-point outings and 19 games with at least one point.
- Thompson has 13 multi-point games and 20 games with at least one point.
- Both players were nominated for the 2020 Hobey Baker Award.
 
Underclassmen Success
The Providence sophomore class ranks first nationally among second-year classes in scoring with 108 points on 33 goals and 75 assists - 20 points ahead of second-place Denver. The Friars' freshmen class is tied for second nationally among other rookie classes in scoring with 63 points on 27 goals and 36 assists. Freshmen have accounted for seven of the Friars' 13 game-winning goals this season.
 
Ford Makes U.S. National Junior Team Roster
Freshman Parker Ford earned a spot on the final 23-player roster for Team USA at the 2020 World Junior Championship that began on Thursday (Dec. 26) in the Czech Republic. Team USA fell to Finland, 1-0, on Jan. 2 in the Quarterfinals. Ford met the Friars in Las Vegas last Saturday after traveling over 8,200 miles across 10 different time zones, where he tallied a goal in the 2-2 tie against Cornell.
 
Spreading Out the Points
Twenty-one different Friars have at least one point so far this season. Eight of those players have 10+ points and three of them are averaging at least a point per game.
 
Striking First
Providence has scored the game's first goal in 21 out of 23 games so far this season. The Friars are 12-5-4 when scoring first this season.
 
Outscoring Opponents
- Providence has outscored its opponents 80-50 so far this season. The Friars are ninth nationally in scoring margin, with a 1.30 differential.
- Providence ranks 10th nationally in scoring offense, averaging 3.48 goals per game.
 
Strong on the Power Play
- The Friars are 24-for-92 on the power play so far this season and are ranked eighth nationally with a 26.1% conversion rate. Providence has scored at least one power-play goal in 17 out of the season's 23 games. In six of those games, the Friars have netted multiple goals on advantages.
- Eight different players have scored on power-play chances, including seven goals from Patrick Moynihan and six from Tyce Thompson.

Providence holds the nation's second longest-active NCAA appearance streak, having made a sixth-straight tournament appearance in 2018-19. Denver leads the pack with 12-straight appearances.

The Friars are 161-15-18 all-time under Nate Leaman when scoring three or more goals in a game.

The Friars are 148-6-17 all-time under Nate Leaman when holding a lead after two periods.
 
Historic Pace
Dugan currently sits at 41 points. He is currently on pace for 60.6 points in 34 regular season games. The last Friar to reach 50 points was Devin Rask in 2000-01, while Mike Boback was the last to reach 60 points with his 72-point season in 1991-92. The program single-season record for points was Ron Wilson's 87 points in 1974-75.

SERIES HISTORY VS. NEW HAMPSHIRE
• The teams meet for the first time this season on Friday at Schneider Arena to begin a home-and-home series.
• The Friars claimed last season series with a tie and win over the Wildcats and are 4-1-1 overall in the series over the last six matchups.
 
SCOUTING THE WILDCATS
• UNH enters the weekend series winners of three straight, including a 5-4 overtime win over Northeastern in Durham last Saturday night.
• The Wildcats are led by juniors Charlie Kelleher (5-14-19) and Max Gildon (5-12-17). Eight players have registered at least 10 points this season. Sophomore Angus Crookshank boasts a team-high 10 goals.
• In goal, Mike Robinson has started 14-of-20 games in posting a 2.56 GAA and .899 save percentage with a 5-8-1 record. Ty Taylor has started six games with a 2.30 GAA and .895 save percentage with a 6-0-0 record.
