MOREHEAD, KY.-Â The Providence College volleyball team finished day one at the 2019 Morehead State Eagle Challenge, 1-1 after falling to Georgia State and beating Presbyterian. After today, the Friars are 3-2, matching their record through five games in 2018.

GEORGIA STATE HIGHLIGHTS
The Friars dropped their first match of the day in four sets, 23-25, 24-26, 25-23, 23-25. Georgia State improves to 3-1 on the season.
Allison Barber (Woodbury, Minn.) tallied her third double-double of the season after recording team-highs with 37 assists and 15 digs.
Jennifer Leitman (Irvine, Calif.) and
Addison Root (Wichita, Kan.) were the only Friars with double-digit kills with 12 and 10, respectively.
Along with Barber,
Caroline LaMacchia (Rockville Centre, N.Y.) and Root recorded double-digit kills with 14 and 10, respectively.
As a team, the Friars had 48 kills on 168 total attacks, 72 digs, 44 assists and 13 total team blocks.

PRESBYTERIAN HIGHLIGHTS
Providence won in straight sets, 25-20, 25-16, 25-18. The Blue Hose fall to 1-4 on the season.
Barber recorded her second double-double of the day, fourth of the season, with a game-high 27 assists and 12 digs.
Root led the Friars with nine kills on 24 total attacks and 11 digs.
Jenae Alderson (Brooklyn Park, Minn.) recorded a game-high .500 attacking percentage after seven kills on 12 total attacks.
Mackenzie Taylor (Holbrook, N.Y.) tallied a game-high 15 digs.
As a team, the Friars had 40 kills, 33 assists, 51 digs, and six total team blocks.
