PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The women's soccer team opened up BIG EAST play with a resounding 4-0 win over St. John's University on Saturday, Sept. 28 at Chapey Field at Anderson Stadium. Four different players scored for the Friars, including
Chloe Ortolano scoring her first career goal in 44
th minute.

GAME FLOW & NOTES
- St. John's had a chance to score the first minute on a shot from Alex Madden, the shot was saved by a diving
Shelby Hogan in the top left of the goal.
- In the 17
th minute,
Hannah McNulty (Warwick, R.I.) put the Friars up 1-0 on her team-leading fifth goal of the season.
Olivia Lucia (Monmouth Beach, N.J.) crossed the ball from the edge of the box to McNulty who finished on a header from 6-yards out.
- In the 44
th minute,
Chloe Ortolano (Norwalk, Conn.) scored her first career goal. She beat the defender and finished with her right foot in the lower left of the net.

Amber Birchwell (Mastic, N.Y.) put the Friars up 3-0 in the 46
th minute. She was able to corral a longball inside the box and finished with her right foot to go past the keeper in the bottom left of the net.
- Six minutes later,
Elayna Grillakis scored for the Friars on her fourth goal of the season. She shot a dagger from the 35 yards out which the keeper fumbled on the goal line and slipped between her legs.
- Providence outshot St. John's, 14-8

Shelby Hogan tallied six saves in net for her third shutout of the season and 20
th career shutout.
