Providence College Holds Third Annual Giving Day

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Friars Give, Providence College's third giving day held on April 10 was another success. In total, the day yielded $852,659 in gifts. 4,362 members of the Friar family participated, over the course of 24 hours. Specifically, Athletics brought in $178,602.
The athletics challenge was based on sport specific participation. The team with the highest percentage of participation received $5,000 from the Friars Forever Fund into their restricted budget. Followed by $3,000 for the second place and $2,000 for the third place team. This year's winning team was Women's Volleyball followed by Women's Soccer and Field Hockey respectively. Â
"I am excited to see so many members of the Friar Family contribute to the success of Providence College Athletics." Director of Athletics Robert G. Driscoll, Jr. said. " It is heartening to see our staff and athletes embrace a culture of giving back. A special thank you to all of our staff members and student-athletes who participated in Friars Give. Every dollar makes a difference."
In addition 351 (97%) current student-athletes made a gift back to Providence College on giving day.Â
