PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Providence College student-athletes once again set the standard across the BIG EAST, earning back to back wins in the league's SAAC Read Across the BIG EAST Challenge with another truly impactful showing. Building on the momentum from their inaugural win, the Friars doubled down on what this initiative is all about, meaningful and consistent engagement with their community.

This year, Providence student-athletes logged an impressive 80 reading sessions, shared 117 books, and reached 1,460 children. Those numbers reflect not just participation, but intentional outreach and sustained commitment. More importantly, they represent real moments: classrooms energized, young readers inspired, and authentic connections formed between our student-athletes and the communities they serve.

Providence continues to embody the spirit of this challenge, leveraging the platform of BIG EAST athletics to promote youth literacy and create lasting impact. Back to back champions and a model for what "Be The Change" looks like in action.
