NO. 7 PROVIDENCE COLLEGE MEN’S HOCKEY DOWNED IN OVERTIME BY BOSTON COLLEGE, 4-3, TO FORCE A DECISIVE GAME 3

PROVIDENCE, R.I. The second-seeded Providence College men's hockey team dropped game two of the Hockey East Quarterfinals to the seventh-seeded Boston College Eagles, 4-3, in overtime on Saturday, March 16 at Schneider Arena. Logan Hutsko netted the game-winning goal for Boston College just 23 seconds into overtime to force a decisive game three tomorrow night at 5 p.m.

NOTES
- Boston College broke into the scoring column first, netting two goals within 36 seconds at the 12-minute mark to take a 2-0 advantage. Ben Finkelstein brought the puck over the blue line and slipped a back handed pass through two Providence players, JD Dudek settled at the top of the right circle before firing a wrist shot over Hayden Hawkey's stick side. Logan Hutsko pushed the puck up to Julius Matilla on the left boards to setup the second goal, Matilla then delivered a centering pass to the top of the crease that David Colton punched under Hawkey's legs.
- Shots were even at the conclusion of the second period, 7-7. Hawkey recorded five saves compared to Joe Woll's seven in net.
- Josh Wilkins brought Providence within one, 2-1, on his 15th goal of the season. Jack Dugan won a faceoff in the offensive zone that Wilkins trailed behind before firing a wrist shot across his body and beating Woll over his stick from in front of the crease.
- Wilkins tied the game at 2-2 on his second goal of night with five minutes remaining in the second period. Dugan picked up his second assist to Wilkins after corralling the puck behind the net off a rebound and finding Wilkins in front of the crease, Wilkins slid the puck past an outstretched Woll to his far side. The goal marked Wilkins' 100th career point as a Friar.
- Kasper Bjorkqvist's 16th goal of the season and first this postseason gave Providence their first lead of the night, 3-2. The puck was tied up on the right wall before Dugan snuck out and passed it to Bjorkqvist skating in from behind the blue line, Bjorkqvist roped a wrist shot over Woll's pad from the point.
- Providence had a chance to add an insurance goal with 8:45 remaining, Brandon Duhaime read the goalie with nobody in front of him and drilled the right post on a wrist shot from the top of the left circle.
- The Eagles netted the equalizer on a power play with 4:52 left in the game. Oliver Wahlstrom slid a pass from the right corner to Logan Hutsko pocketed behind the net, Hutsko found Marc McLaughlin with a back handed pass in the center of the right circle that he one-timed home past Hawkey.
- Boston College ended the game just 23 seconds into overtime, Logan Hutsko scored on a breakaway finishing near side over Hawkey.

at the blue line for Dudek to finish a wrister with nobody in front of him.
2-0 (BC) – 9:25/1st – EV – David Cotton (Mattila, Hutsko) – Mattila centering pass to the top of the
crease that Cotton punched under Hawkey.
2-1 (PC) – 5:44/2nd – EV – Josh Wilkins (Dugan) – Dugan won the faceoff and dropped the puck to Wilkins circling behind who finished a wrister.
2-2 (PC) – 15:09/2nd – EV – Josh Wilkins (Dugan, Bjorkqvist) – Dugan pass from behind the net to Wilkins for a tap in out front.
3-2 (PC) – 6:19/2nd – EV – Kasper Bjorkqvist (Dugan, Wilkins) – Dugan pass to the point that Bjorkqvist skated onto and fired home.
3-3 (BC) – 15:08/3rd – PP – Marc McLaughlin (Hutsko, Wahlstrom) – Hutsko pass from behind the net to McLaughlin for a one-timer from the edge of the right circle.
4-3 (BC) – 0:23/OT – EV – Logan Hutsko (Kim) – Breakaway with Bryson defending on his right side that he lifted over Hawkey's stick side.
