TALKING POINTSÂ Â Â Â Â Â Â
- Providence earned the weekend sweep over UMass Lowell with a 1-0 shutout of the River Hawks last Saturday night at Schneider Arena.
- The game remained scoreless through the first period, Providence tallied 11 shots compared to UMass Lowell's seven.
Scott Conway nearly gave Providence a one-goal advantage five minutes into the period, Conway toe dragged through two defenders but put his wrist shot off the left post.

Tyce Thompson put the Friars in front on his sixth goal of the season with 4:01 left in the middle stanza.
Michael Callahan wired a wrist shot from the middle of the circles that rebounded to Thompson on the left side of the net, Thompson hit the open net before Chris Hernberg could rotate over to give Providence a 1-0 lead.
- The River Hawks failed to convert on separate power play opportunities in the period. Hawkey tallied nine saves over Hernberg's six saves in the second period.
- The final period included four power play opportunities for Providence and two for UMass Lowell, neither team could find the back of the net with the man-advantage.
- Hawkey stopped all 21 shots for his seventh shutout of the season and 15th career shutout.

- Providence moved into a tie for second place in the Hockey East with UMass Lowell following their win, each holding 24 points apiece.
- The Friars extended their winning streak over the River Hawks to six games, sweeping the regular season series in each of the last three years.
- The shutout was Hawkey's first of the season at home, the other six have come in road or neutral contests this season. The Friars have recorded two 1-0 shutout wins over the last four games.

SERIES HISTORY VS. UMASS
• The Friars and Minutemen will conclude their three-game regular season series on Saturday night at Schneider Arena. Providence looks to salvage the last game of the series after UMass swept the Friars back in November.
• The Minutemen have claimed four of the last five in the series. Both games in November were won in the final two minutes.
• All time, the Friars are 31-11-1 at Schneider Arena against the Minutemen.

SCOUTING THE MINUTEMEN
• UMass enters the weekend winners of three straight, including a 3-0 shutout over UConn on Thursday night at the Mullins Center.
• The Minutemen are tied for the most wins nationally with 24 and led the NCAA with 35 power play goals. The 31.5% success on the power play ranks second nationally.
• Jacob Pritchard leads the way for the Minutemen with 37 points on 14 goals and 23 assists. Hobey Baker candidate Cale Makar follows up with 34 points on 10 goals and 24 assists, while Mitchell Chaffee and John Leonard each have 33 points.
• Goaltender Matt Murray has posted an 18-4-0 record with a 2.03 GAA and .923 save percentage in 22 games played this season.

ELEVEN GAMES TO AIR ON NBC SPORTS BOSTON
Providence College Athletics announced that NBC Sports Boston, the broadcast home of the Boston Celtics will televise 11 men's hockey home games during the 2018-19 season. Eight of the 11 games will be shown live, while the remaining three games with be tape delayed following the conclusion of Celtics coverage.

Beginning with the 2018-19 hockey season, all Friars men's hockey games, in addition to all pregame and postgame network programming will be carried live on NewsRadio 104.7 FM. The agreement also includes 10 editions of the
Nate Leaman Coaches Show that will air throughout the season. Mike Logan, who is entering his 24th season as the voice of the Friars, will call all the live action this season on 104.7 FM. Â Logan also will host the

WIN BIG
In their 18 victories this season, Providence's average margin of victory has been an average of 3.17 goals, which ranks fourth in the NCAA. The Friars have outscored opponents by an average of 4.28-1.11 in those 18 wins this season and all but two of those 18 wins have been by at least two goals.

MULTIPLE MILESTONES FOR HAWKEY
Goaltender
Hayden Hawkey recorded his single-season program record sixth shutout of the season against Maine on Feb. 8. His 66 career wins are a new program record. His .645 winning percentage currently ranks second all-time in program history. The 66 wins lead all active NCAA goaltenders while his 15 shutouts are second among active goaltenders (Jake Kielly - Clarkson, 16). Hawkey has surrendered just eight goals in his last eight games, stopping 191 of 199 shots over that span.

The current group of seniors have dominated at Schneider Arena over the last three-plus seasons, going 47-10-8 over that span (.785).
