Jack Dugan's seventh strike of the season, finishing off a drive to the net by Kasper Björkqvist.
- Providence exploded for four goals in a span of 3:46 early in the second period.

SERIES HISTORY VS. MIAMI
• Providence and Miami meet for the seventh-consecutive season and for the second and third times in 2018-19.
• The Friars are 7-1-2 against the RedHawks in their last 10 meetings. Providence swept the season series last season in Oxford, Ohio and blanked the RedHawks 4-0 at the 2018 Ice Breaker Tournament in Erie, Pa. on Oct. 12.

SCOUTING THE REDHAWKS
• Miami returned to action on Dec. 30 with a 3-1 exhibition win over Guelph. Prior to that, the RedHawks haven't played since Nov. 30-Dec. 1, where they earned a pair of ties against then No. 1 St. Cloud State.
• Senior Josh Melnick paces the RedHawks with 17 points on six goals and 11 assists. Gordie Green (6-9-15), Derek Daschke (3-9-12) and Grant Hutton (4-6-10) have also reached the double-digit plateau for Miami this season.
• In goal, junior Ryan Larkin ranks fourth nationally with a .936 save percentage and ninth with a 1.89 goals-against average.

KOOPMAN TWINS JOIN THE ROSTER FOR THE SECOND SEMESTER
Marblehead, Mass. natives Matt and
Kyle Koopman will join the program for the second semester. Matt totaled eight goals and 17 assists with Waterloo (USHL) while Kyle tallied eight assists with West Kelowna (BCHL) prior to joining the Friars.

DUGAN NAMED HOCKEY EAST ROOKIE OF THE MONTH IN BACK-TO-BACK MONTHS
Freshman
Jack Dugan was named Hockey East Rookie of the Month for the second-consecutive month in November after posting a league-best nine points, four goals and five assists. He's just the second Friar all-time to be named Hockey East Rookie of the Month twice in one season (Jon Gillies, 2012-13). Dugan is tied for the NCAA freshmen scoring lead with 17 points and three game-winning goals.

JAY O'BRIEN COMPETES AT 2019 WORLD JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIPS

Jay O'Brien earned a spot on the final roster for the U.S. at the ongoing World Junior Championships in British Columbia. Team USA advanced to the WJC semifinals with a 3-1 win over the Czech Republic on Wednesday night. They will faceoff against Russia on Friday night (Jan. 4).

ELEVEN GAMES TO AIR ON NBC SPORTS BOSTON
Providence College Athletics announced that NBC Sports Boston, the broadcast home of the Boston Celtics will televise 11 men's hockey home games during the 2018-19 season. Eight of the 11 games will be shown live, while the remaining three games with be tape delayed following the conclusion of Celtics coverage.

Beginning with the 2018-19 hockey season, all Friars men's hockey games, in addition to all pregame and postgame network programming will be carried live on NewsRadio 104.7 FM. The agreement also includes 10 editions of the
Nate Leaman Coaches Show that will air throughout the season. Mike Logan, who is entering his 24th season as the voice of the Friars, will call all the live action this season on 104.7 FM. Logan also will host the

Goaltender
Hayden Hawkey recorded his fourth shutout of the season against Merrimack on Dec. 7. His 59 career wins rank third all-time at Providence and sits six wins shy of setting the program record of 64 (Mario Proulx '84). His .660 winning percentage currently ranks first all-time in program history.
