- Providence's suffered their second-straight setback on Saturday night after Boston University rallied for a 4-3 win at Schneider Arena.
- The Friars rushed out to a quick 2-0 lead within the opening 10 minutes of the first period.

Josh Wilkins's one-timer on the power play, his eighth strike of the season, put the Friars up 1-0 at 6:30.

Scott Conway put home his team-leading 10th goal of the season at 9:19 to give Providence a two-goal cushion.
- The Terriers tied things up with a pair of unanswered goals from Shane Bowers, with the tying goal coming midway through the second period.
- Conway added his second of the night just 11 seconds into the third period to put Providence up 3-2.
- Boston University responded just 2"57 later as David Farrance's drive from the point found its way through traffic on a delayed penalty.
- The Terriers went ahead for good on Logan Cockerill's third goal of the season at 8:03.
- Providence was forced to kill a five-minute major to conclude the game, but nearly tied it as
Matt Koopman picked off a pass and raced in alone but Oettinger got a piece of his shot with the blocker.
- Wilkins extended his career-long point streak to 12 games (6-12-18). He leads the Friars in scoring with 24 points overall. The point streak is the longest in the NCAA this season.

SCOUTING THE BEARS
• Providence and Brown will battle for the 101st time on Tuesday night in the 33rd edition of the Mayor's Cup.
• Senior Tommy Marchin (4-7-11) and sophomore Joachim Weberg (5-4-9) pace the Bears in scoring through 15 games this season. Senior defenseman Max Gottlieb has also chipped in with nine points for the Bears in 2018-19.
• Goaltenders Gavin Nieto and Luke Kania have shared duties for the Bears over the first 15 games. Kania stopped 39-of-41 shots against the Friars at the Ledyard Bank Classic on Dec. 29. Nieto has posted a 2.78 GAA and .909 save percentage in his nine starts this season.
• The Bears concluded the first half of the season unbeaten in their last three games (1-0-2), including a 3-3 tie over then No. 11 Union and a 2-1 win over Rensselaer.

KOOPMAN TWINS JOIN THE ROSTER FOR THE SECOND SEMESTER
Marblehead, Mass. natives Matt and
Kyle Koopman will join the program for the second semester. Matt totaled eight goals and 17 assists with Waterloo (USHL) while Kyle tallied eight assists with West Kelowna (BCHL) prior to joining the Friars.

DUHAIME NAMED HOCKEY EAST PLAYER OF THE MONTH
Junior
Brandon Duhaime notched Hockey East Player of the Month honors for December after leading all Hockey East players with eight points over four games (1-7-8). It was the first monthly recognition for Duhaime.

The Friars lead all NCAA schools with a +265 shots on goal margin. Overall, Providence has outshot opponents by an average of 12.05 shots per game. Their 22.82 shots on goal allowed per game ranks second overall in the NCAA.

ELEVEN GAMES TO AIR ON NBC SPORTS BOSTON
Providence College Athletics announced that NBC Sports Boston, the broadcast home of the Boston Celtics will televise 11 men's hockey home games during the 2018-19 season. Eight of the 11 games will be shown live, while the remaining three games with be tape delayed following the conclusion of Celtics coverage.

Beginning with the 2018-19 hockey season, all Friars men's hockey games, in addition to all pregame and postgame network programming will be carried live on NewsRadio 104.7 FM. The agreement also includes 10 editions of the
Nate Leaman Coaches Show that will air throughout the season. Mike Logan, who is entering his 24th season as the voice of the Friars, will call all the live action this season on 104.7 FM. Logan also will host the
Nate Leaman Coaches show on 104.7 FM.

JAY O'BRIEN EARNS SILVER AT 2019 WORLD JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIPS
Freshman
Jay O'Brien earned the silver medal at the 2019 World Junior Championships after Finland defeated the United States in the gold medal game last Saturday. He is the third Friar to earn a medal at the World Junior Championships (Jon Gillies - Gold, 2013 &
Erik Foley - Gold, 2017).

Goaltender
Hayden Hawkey recorded his fourth shutout of the season against Merrimack on Dec. 7. His 60 career wins are tied for second all-time at Providence with Jon Gillies and he sits five wins shy of breaking the program record of 64 (Mario Proulx '84). His .649 winning percentage currently ranks first all-time in program history, while his 12 shutouts are one shy of tying Gillies for the program record.

The current group of seniors have dominated at Schneider Arena over the last three-plus seasons, going 45-9-7 over that span (.795).
