TALKING POINTSÂ Â Â Â Â Â Â
- The Friars held leads of 2-0 and 3-1, but No. 16 Miami rallied in the third period to salvage a 3-3 tie at Schneider Arena last Saturday in game two of a weekend series.

Scott Conway cashed in with a goal in his fifth-consecutive game at 5:35 of the first period, his ninth strike of the season to put the Friars up 1-0 on the power play.

Ben Mirageas tallied his second goal of the season as his wrist shot through a screen beat Larkin to the glove side. It was his first goal since Nov. 3.
- Back-to-back penalties in the third period gave the RedHawks momentum and they cut the deficit in half on Ryan Siroky's goal at 5:58.

Bryan Lemos responded just 13 seconds later for the Friars with his second goal of the season to regain the two-goal cushion at 3-1.
- Miami tied things up with 41.2 left on the clock as Gordie Green re-directed the tying goal past Hawkey with the extra attacker.
- Kasper Björkqvist's point streak was snapped at seven games.

Josh Wilkins extended his career-long point streak to 10 games (4-12-16). He leads the Friars in scoring with 23 points overall. His point streak is tied for the longest active streak in the nation and the second-longest streak this season.

SERIES HISTORY VS. BOSTON COLLEGE
• Providence and BC meet for the first of three meetings this year on Friday night in Chestnut Hill. The Friars will return to Kelley rink eight days later on Jan. 19.
• Providence took two of three meetings last season and snapped a four-game road losing streak against the Eagles with a 4-1 win on Jan. 12, 2018.
• Overall, the Friars are 5-13-2 in the last 20 meetings between the schools.

SCOUTING THE EAGLES
• The Eagles have dropped three straight to start the second half of the season after losses to Notre Dame and Arizona State twice.
• All of Boston College's wins in 2018-19 have come in Hockey East play, where they are tied for first at 6-1-2 in league play.
• The Eagles are led in scoring by junior David Cotton, who ranks second in Hockey East with 11 goals. Julius Mattila (6-8-14) and reigning Hockey East Rookie of the Year Logan Hutsko (4-8-12) round out the top three in scoring.
• Junior Joe Woll has posted a 2.13 GAA and .927 save percentage in 16 starts this season.

SERIES HISTORY VS. BOSTON UNIVERSITY
• The two teams will square off for the second of three meetings this season. The Friars will host the Terriers at Schneider Arena this Saturday (Jan. 12) and on Thursday, Feb. 28.
• The Friars claimed the first meeting of the year back on Oct. 26 at Agganis Arena by a score of 5-0. The teams met four times in 2017-18, with the Terriers claiming the last meeting in Hockey East Championship game by a 2-0 score.
• Overall, the Friars are 3-3-4 against the Terriers dating back to the 2015 National Championship Game.

SCOUTING THE TERRIERS
• BU returned to action on Tuesday night and was able to salvage a 2-2 tie at Harvard. Matt Quercia and Joel Farabee notched goals for the Terriers on Tuesday.
• Farabee (5-7-12) is among four players with double-digit point totals for the Terriers this season - Dante Fabbro (3-10-13), Bobo Carpenter (9-3-12) and Patrick Curry (5-5-10).
• In goal, junior Jake Oettinger has posted a 2.54 GAA and .924 save percentage in 17 games this season.

KOOPMAN TWINS JOIN THE ROSTER FOR THE SECOND SEMESTER
Marblehead, Mass. natives Matt and
Kyle Koopman will join the program for the second semester. Matt totaled eight goals and 17 assists with Waterloo (USHL) while Kyle tallied eight assists with West Kelowna (BCHL) prior to joining the Friars.

DUHAIME NAMED HOCKEY EAST PLAYER OF THE MONTH
Junior
Brandon Duhaime notched Hockey East Player of the Month honors for December after leading all Hockey East players with eight points over four games (1-7-8). It was the first monthly recognition for Duhaime.

JAY O'BRIEN EARNS SILVER AT 2019 WORLD JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIPS

Jay O'Brien earned the silver medal at the 2019 World Junior Championships after Finland defeated the United States in the gold medal game last Saturday. He is the third Friar to earn a medal at the World Junior Championships (Jon Gillies - Gold, 2013 &
Erik Foley - Gold, 2017).

Goaltender
Hayden Hawkey recorded his fourth shutout of the season against Merrimack on Dec. 7. His 60 career wins are tied for second all-time at Providence with Jon Gillies and he sits five wins shy of breaking the program record of 64 (Mario Proulx '84). His .662 winning percentage currently ranks first all-time in program history, while his 12 shutouts are one shy of tying Gillies for the program record.
