Friars open BIG EAST Conference action against No. 21 Old Dominion on Sept. 14.
DURHAM, N.H. - The Providence College field hockey team displayed a solid effort, but was defeated by 14th-ranked Iowa, 1-0, on Saturday, Sept. 8 at Memorial Field in Durham, N.H. It marked the Friars' first match-up of the season against a nationally-ranked opponent and the loss halted a three-game win streak for Providence.

GAME HIGHLIGHTS & NOTES

The match will be played in Norfolk, Va. and is scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m. Providence returns home for its second game of the season at Lennon Family Field on Sunday, Sept. 16 against LIU Brooklyn. The game will begin at 1:00 p.m. and serves as the program's annual Alumni Day.
