LAWRENCE, KAN.– Five members of the Providence College men's and women's swimming teams competed in the 2018 CSCAA Collegiate National Open Water Swimming Championship at Lone Star Lake. The 5,000-meter race hosted by the University of Kansas took place today (Sept. 22).
Senior
Madeline Snow (Bethany, Conn.) was the lone Friar in the women's race, finishing in 1:12:51.11. The time landed Snow in 59th place.
For the men,
Justin Viotto (Morristown, N.J.) would pace the Friars. The freshman's 1:03:07.87 would earn a 22nd place finish.
Other competitors for the Friar men included
Jerod Magazine (Coto De Caza, Calif.),
Liam Straker (South Glastonbury, Conn.), and Patrick MacAuley (Rye, N.Y.) crossing the line in 43rd, 47th, and 54th, Respectively.
The Friars return to action on Oct. 5 for the NE Catholic Invitational in Newton, Mass.
