Garrett Shuldes Named Assistant Coach For Swimming And Diving Programs

Shuldes spent the last four seasons as an assistant coach at Wheaton College.
PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Providence College men's and women's swimming and diving Head Coach Anthony Randall announced today [Sept. 22] that Garrett Shuldes has joined his staff as an assistant coach. Shuldes will embark on his first season with the Friars in 2026-27.

Shuldes spent the last four seasons as an assistant coach with the swimming & diving programs at Wheaton College (2022-26). During his time at Wheaton, he helped develop and mentor six student-athletes who qualified for NCAA Championships in their respective events. As a team, Wheaton qualified for the NCAA Championships during each of his four seasons and the Lyons produced three NEWMAC Individual Champions. Wheaton compiled a 51-39 dual meet record during his tenure, and the Lyons set 25 school records, spanning various events.

Shuldes attended Carthage College and competed for the men's swimming team from 2018-22. Carthage claimed three conference titles, as he was a stand-out performer in the backstroke for the Firebirds. Shuldes also served as team captain for the men's varsity swim and diving program. In addition to his swimming achievements, Shuldes was also named to the CCIW All-Academic Team all three seasons that he was eligible for the honor. He served on the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee at Carthage and earned the Athletic Department's Merle Chapman Leadership Award and the RESPECT Award.

Shuldes graduated from Carthage with a Bachelor of Arts degree in physics.
