Allyson Parker nets two of the Friars' four goals in the victory.
PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Providence College field hockey team defeated Bryant University, 4-1, on Sunday, Sept. 2 at Lennon Family Field in Providence, R.I. Junior Allyson Parker (Orange, Mass.) tallied two of the Friars' four goals on the afternoon. The Friars have won two-straight games and improve to 2-3 overall, while Bryant dropped to 0-4 on the season.

GAME HIGHLIGHTS & NOTES
- The Friars started the game fast offensively, registering their first corner of the game just 58-second into the action. On the corner, junior Natalie Mitchell (East Norriton, Pa.) hit the cross bar.
- Junior Allyson Parker (Orange, Mass.) scored the Friars' first two goals of the afternoon at 6:49 and 29:19. Both goals came off of penalty corners. Freshman Amanda Collins (San Diego, Calif.) and sophomore Maddie Babineau (Milton, Ontario) were credited with assists on the first tally, while junior Mary O'Reilly (Longmeadow, Mass.) and Babineau teamed up for assists on the second.
- Junior Kara Sanford (Hazeleton, Pa.) gave the Friar a 3-0 lead at 41:00 as she collected her second goal of the year off a feed from Corinne Kenney (Warrington, Pa.) on a penalty corner.
- Bryant got on the board in the second half as Ally Burdick knocked home a rebound to cut PC's lead to two goals (3-1) at the 48:00 minute mark.
- The Friars got an insurance goal from junior Izzy Mendez (Cedar Grove, N.J.) at 54:57 to make the final 4-1. Mendez picked up a loose ball of a rebound and rifled a hard shot into the cage from the right side of the circle.
- Providence led Bryant in shots (17-5), shots on goal (13-4) and penalty corners (13-4).
- Parker scored a total of three goals over the weekend, having tallied the game winner against Brown on Saturday, Sept. 1 in a 1-0 victory.
