PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Providence College men's soccer team fell to the University of Rhode Island by a score of 3-0 on Tuesday, Sept. 18 on Chapey Field at Anderson Stadium.

GAME FLOW & NOTES
- Liam Daley gave the Rams a 1-0 lead in the 25th minute of play. Peder Kristiansen played a free kick into the box that deflected off a cluster of players. Colin Miller (Bel Air, Md.) made the initial save, but Daley was there to bury the rebound.
- Tiago Mendonca (Faro, Portugal) had the Friars' best chance of the first half. He blasted a shot toward the near post, but Stefan Schmidt was there to make the save.
- URI doubled its lead with a goal just five minutes into the second half. Simon Trcka battled for the ball and played a cross to Dominik Richter for a one-time finish to the far post.
- In the 65th minute freshman Gil Santos (Parede, Portugal) took a free kick from 25 yards out that drilled the post.
- Just two minutes later, URI extended the lead to 3-0. Edvin Akselsen took advantage of a Providence turnover at the top of the box, beat Miller and scored his third goal of the season.
- Tony Billeri (Cumberland, R.I.) entered the match in the 72nd minute, replacing Miller in net. He made two saves in his first action of the season.
- Rhode Island remains undefeated and has yet to concede a goal through six games.
