Lydia Rice Named To BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll For Field Hockey

Rice posted a 1.00 goals against average and a 0.778 save percentage last week.

Providence College senior goalkeeper Lydia Rice (Carle Place, N.Y.) was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll for field hockey, marking the first weekly league honor of her career.  The BIG EAST released its weekly award winners on Sept 10.

Rice played all 140 minutes in the cage last week for Providence.  She posted a 1.00 goals against average and a 0.778 save percentage.  She recorded five saves in the Friars' 2-1 victory over New Hampshire on Friday.  She followed with two saves in a 1-0 loss to 14th-ranked Iowa.  The Hawkeyes entered the game averaging 4.00 goals per game.

The Friars return to action on Friday, Sept. 14 as they open up BIG EAST Conference play against Old Dominion.
