- Tiago Mendonca (Faro, Portugal) got the Friars on the board with a laser from 25-yards out in the 52nd minute. Malcolm Duncan (Toronto, Ontario) streaked up the sideline in transition and played a nice through ball to Mendonca's feet. He took a touch and launched a shot into the upper left corner.
- In the 55th minute, Brendan Constantine (Glastonbury, Conn.) nearly doubled the Friars' lead. His header from right in front was saved byPatrick Michael Hillyard.

- Miller made two of his best saves of the night in the final five minutes of regulation. He denied Eddie Munjoma, twice, by stretching out for diving stops.
- Alex DaCosta (Bristol, R.I.) played the hero for the Friars, ending the game in the 104th minute. He rocketed a shot from about 18-yards out that beat Hillyard over the top.
