TALKING POINTSÂ Â Â Â Â Â Â
- Providence extended its unbeaten streak to four games (3-0-1) after a 3-0 win at Holy Cross last Saturday night in Worcester.
-
Spenser Young got Providence on the board in the second period with his team-high fourth goal of the season.
 - The Friars' penalty kill was a perfect 7-for-7 last Saturday night and currently ranks ninth nationally at 88.6%.
 -
Ben Mirageas gave Providence insurance early in the third period with his first goal of the season. He also added an assist later in the third on
Brandon Duhaime's empty net goal.
 - Hawkey stopped all 27 shots he faced for his third shutout in six games. He has posted a 1.01 GAA and .955 save percentage this season for the Friars.
 - Duhaime added an empty net goal for his third goal in the last two games.
 - The Friars have outshot their opponents in every game this season and have held an advantage of 32.7-22.7 shots average per game this season.
- Providence has surrendered 1.14 goals per game, which ranks first overall in the nation.

Josh Wilkins has five assists over his last two games
 - Hawkey's 11 career shutouts put him two behind Jon Gillies for the program record. He also recorded the first back-to-back shutouts since Gillies accomplished the feat in 2014.
- The shutout also marked just the third time in program history that the Friars have earned back-to-back road shutouts - Tyler Sims (2007) and Rick Moffitt/Bill Milner (1976).

SERIES HISTORY VS. UMASS
• Providence and UMass begin their first of three meetings this season on Thursday night in Amherst before returning to Schneider Arena on Saturday night.
• The Minutemen took two out of three matchups against the Friars last season, including both games at the Mullins Center. Prior to that, the Friars had won six in a row and 12-of-13 against UMass.
• All-time, the Friars are 16-14-5 on the road at the Mullins Center.

SCOUTING THE MINUTEMEN
• The Minutemen have opened the season at 6-1-0 overall and 3-0-0 in Hockey East play, including a 5-1 win at New Hampshire last time out on Saturday night. UMass split a non-conference series at then No. 1 Ohio State last month.
• UMass' high-octane attack is led by Cale Makar (4-9-13), Mitchell Chaffee (6-5-11), and John Leonard (3-8-11).
• In goal, sophomore Matt Murray and freshman Filip Lindberg has split duty in net. Murray has started four games with a 4-0-0 record, 1.50 GAA and .947 save percentage. Lindberg is 2-1-0 with a 1.97 GAA and .932 save percentage. Murray allowed seven goals to the Friars on Nov. 11, 2017 before earning a shutout against them on Feb. 24, 2018.
• Head Coach Greg Carvel is in his third season at UMass and has amassed a 28-50-4 record over that span.

DUGAN NAMED HOCKEY EAST ROOKIE OF THE MONTH
Freshman
Jack Dugan was named Hockey East Rookie of the Month for October after posting seven points in six games. He was the first Friar rookie to earn the honor since Anthony Florentino in March of 2014.

PROGRAM HITS 1,000 WINS
With their 7-2 win over UConn last Friday night, the Friars posted their 1,000 win in program history. All-time, Providence is 1000-933-152 (.516).

BALANCED SCORING
Thirteen different players have scored the Friars' 24 goals through seven games. Overall, 17 players have recorded at least one point this season.

JUMPING OUT EARLY
Providence has out-scored their opponents by a 9-0 margin in first periods this season. The Friars haven't allowed a first period goal since March 9, 2018, a stretch of 12 games and 251:50 total.

ELEVEN GAMES TO AIR ON NBC SPORTS BOSTON
Providence College Athletics announced that NBC Sports Boston, the broadcast home of the Boston Celtics will televise 11 men's hockey home games during the 2018-19 season. Eight of the 11 games will be shown live, while the remaining three games with be tape delayed following the conclusion of Celtics coverage.

Greg Printz's six career goals have been game-winning goals, including both of Providence's game-winners this season.
