QUEENS, N.Y. – Providence College volleyball dropped match against St. John's on the road on Nov. 3 in Queens, N.Y. With the loss the Friars are now 8-17 on the season and are 2-12 in BIG EAST play. The Friars will return to action at home to face Villanova and Georgetown on Nov. 9-11.
FIRST SET HIGHLIGHTS:
-Providence dropped the first set, 25-15.

Allison Impellizeri (Seaford, N.Y.) and
Addison Root (Wichita, Kan.) led the Friars' attack tallying three and two kills, respectively.
-Impellizeri recorded a hitting percentage of 1.000 in the first set.
-
Allison Barber (Woodbury, Minn.) recorded 5 assists, while Root was not far behind recording 2 assists.
-
Mackenzie Taylor (Holbrook, N.Y.) led the Providence defense, tallying four digs.
-Barber and
Emma Fink (Western Springs, Ill.) contributed to the Friars' defense with three kills apiece.
SECOND SET HIGHLIGHTS:
-The Friars fell to the Red Storm, 25-18.
-Root was the strong force for the Providence offense in set two, tallying five kills.
- Impellizeri contributed to the Friars' offense recording four kills, respectively.
-Barber assisted the Providence attack recording nine assists.

Jenae Alderson (Brooklyn Park, Minn.) and Barber played a defensive second set tallying three digs apiece.
THIRD SET HIGHLIGHTS:
-Providence held a 19-15 to lead in the first set, but St. John's tallied back late in the set.
-The two teams battled back-and-forth and found themselves tied on five occasions down the stretch, with the last at 29-29, but the Friars pulled out the 31-29 victory.
-Impellizeri led the Friars' attack recording five kills, while Root was just behind with four kills.
-Barber tallied 13 assists, to lead all players in the set.
- Root led the Friars' defense recording four digs.
-Alderson, Taylor and Barber all contributed to the Providence defense tallying three kills apiece.
FOURTH SET HIGHLIGHTS:
-The Red Storm edged the Friars in the fourth set, 25-14.
-Providence's offense was led by Impellizeri recording six kills.
-Root contributed to the Friars' attack with four kills.
-Barber recorded 10 assists in the fourth set.
-Taylor and
Megan Onyundo (Woodbridge, Va.) controlled the Providence defense tallying three digs apiece.
MATCH NOTES:
-The Friars fell to the Red Storm, 3-1.
-As a team, Providence recorded 48 kills, 45 assists, 48 digs and seven total team blocks.
-Impellizeri led the Friars' offense recording 18 kills, while Root was not far behind with 15 kills.
-Impellizeri tied her career high in kills (18) and recorded a positive hitting percentage of .607.
-Barber recorded 37 assists in the match.
-Taylor led the Providence defense with 12 digs, while Barber was not far behind with nine digs.
