The Friars closed the half on an 8-0 run and took their first lead since the first quarter with 1:16 remaining on the clock as freshman Sophia Widmeyer (Dartmouth, Nova Scotia) sank a pair of free throws in her collegiate debut (25-24).  Fellow freshman Kaela Webb (Pontiac, Mich.) gave PC a 28-24 lead heading into halftime with her second three-pointer of the night.

Providence opened the third quarter with back-to-back buckets by Chanell Williams (Bronx, N.Y.) and Maddie Jolin (Rehoboth, Mass.) to push out to a 32-24 lead.  The Bulldogs battled back to tie the game, 32-32, with 5:28 remaining on the clock, but the Friars never relinquished the lead the rest of the way.  Providence held a 41-39 lead heading into the final 10 minutes.
