Volleyball Falls To Seton Hall, 3-1

The Friars dropped the match 3-1 against Seton Hall on the road on Nov. 2.

SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. – Providence College volleyball falls to Seton Hall on the road on Nov. 2 in South Orange, N.J. With the loss the Friars are now 8-16 on the season and are 2-11 in BIG EAST play. The Friars will return to action against St. John's tomorrow night at 5:00 p.m. in Queens, N.Y.
 
FIRST SET HIGHLIGHTS: 
-Providence dropped the first set, 25-18. 
 
-Allison Impellizeri (Seaford, N.Y.) and Addison Root (Wichita, Kan.) led the Friars' attack recording four kills apiece.
 
-Impellizeri and Root led all players in the set in kills.
 
-Allison Barber (Woodbury, Minn.) recorded 11 assists.
 
-Mackenzie Taylor (Holbrook, N.Y.) led the Providence defense, recording five digs. 
 
-Taylor led all players in the set in digs.
 
-Root and Jenae Alderson (Brooklyn Park, Minn.) contributed to the Friars' defense with four and two digs, respectively.
 
SECOND SET HIGHLIGHTS:
-The Friars took the second set, 25-21.
 
-Root was the strong force for the Providence offense in set two, tallying five kills.
 
Sarah Daneliak (Naperville, Ill.) contributed to the Friars' offense recording three kills, respectively. 
 
-Barber assisted the Providence attack recording 14 assists, to lead all players in the set.
 
-Alderson played a defensive second set tallying seven digs, respectively.
 
-Barber was not far behind with three digs.     
 
THIRD SET HIGHLIGHTS:
-Providence fell to Seton Hall, 25-18.
 
-Root led the Friars' attack recording four kills, respectively.
 
-Daneliak and Impellizeri helped the Providence offense by recording two kills apiece.
 
-Barber recorded nine assists in the third set.
 
-Taylor tallied six digs, to lead the Friars' defense.
 
-Barber and Root contributed to the Providence defense tallying three digs apiece.
 
FOURTH SET HIGHLIGHTS:
-It was a back and forth battle in the fourth set, but the Pirates edged the Friars 26-24. 

-Impellizeri recorded five kills to lead the Providence offense.  

-Alderson contributed to the Friars' attack with two kills. 

-Barber tallied eight assists in the fourth set. 

-Taylor led the Providence defense recording eight digs.  
 
MATCH NOTES:
-The Friars fell to the Pirates, 3-1.
 
-As a team, Providence recorded 50 kills, 48 assists, 56 digs and eight total team blocks.  
 
-Root led the Friars' offense recording 14 kills, while Impellizeri was not far behind with 13 kills.
 
-Alderson and Schaible contributed to the Providence attack recording seven kills apiece.
 
-Barber recorded 42 assists, to lead all players in the match.
 
-Taylor led the Providence defense with 21 digs, while Alderson was not far behind with 13 digs.
