GAME FLOW & NOTES
- The Friars got on the board early, as Danny Griffin (Wethersfield, Conn.) scored his second goal of the season in the fourth minute. Matt DePerro (Baldwinsville, N.Y.) took a shot that was blocked by a Georgetown defender. It ricocheted to the feet of Griffin, who blasted it into the bottom left corner.
- It was just the second time this season that the Hoyas have allowed an opponent to score first.
- Colin Miller (Bel Air, Md.) kept the Hoyas off the scoreboard in the first half with a big save in the 34th minute. He came sliding out at the feet of Jacob Montes, who was alone on the left side of the cage.
- Georgetown leveled the score in the 70th minute. Dylan Nealis streaked down the right side and played a cross to the back post, where Foster McCune was waiting for the one-time finish. Nealis now leads the Hoyas with six assists on the season.
- With the goal, Providence's shutout streak in BIG EAST play was snapped at 463:59. They had not allowed a goal in the last four league games.
- Derek Dodson scored his team-leading eighth goal of the season in the 89th minute to seal the victory for Georgetown. Sean O'Hearn played the ball in to Dodson, who flicked it up to himself and finished into the top right corner.
