GAME FLOW & NOTES
- Providence had two free-kick chances in the opening 15 minutes. Joao Serrano (Evora, Portugal) took the first from the right side of the box. He bent it in on goal forcing Paul Kruse to punch it away. Gil Santos (Parede, Portugal) took the second from about 25-yards out. His blast went over the crossbar.
- At the conclusion of the first half, the Friars led 7-3 in overall shots and 3-1 in shots on goal.
- Creighton had more offensive power in the second half, leveling the shots to nine apiece. Despite outshooting Providence, they could not muster a shot on goal in the half.
- While Colin Miller (Bel Air, Md.) did not have to make a second-half save, he did make several key plays coming off his line. He punched away multiple services and corralled a few crosses as well.
- Neither team had a clear-cut chance in the first overtime period. Creighton recorded the lone shot, which was on goal and forced Miller to make a save.
- Miller made two more saves in the second overtime, pushing his final save total to four. The shutout was his sixth of the season and his fourth-consecutive in BIG EAST play.
- This is the fifth overtime game the Friars have played this season. The team is now 2-1-2 in games that go to extra time.
- It is the first scoreless draw for Providence this season. The Friars have only played to one other tie this year, which came in non-conference play against Boston College (1-1).
- Providence's shutout streak in BIG EAST play is now at 394:11. They have not allowed a goal in the last four league games.
