June 22, 2017 On Thursday, June 15 the Providence College Athletic Department held its annual Hannoush Jewelers Friar Golf Classic at Warwick Country Club in Warwick, R.I. The sold out event raised more than $140,000 that will directly enhance the experience of every student-athlete at Providence College. Over the past 10 years, this event has brought in over $1 million dollars for Friar Athletics. Providence College Athletics would like to thank Hannoush Jewelers, the title sponsor for this event, as well as presenting sponsors, ABM, Atlantic Development Group, Providence Friars Sports Properties and Cox.

Guests enjoyed iced coffee and donuts, compliments of Todd Wallace '88 and Dunkin Donuts, in the morning and then were treated to steaks and oysters on the course, courtesy of Capital Grille. On course beverages were provided by Coca Cola. All signage was donated generously by Graphic Innovations.

Player gifts were sponsored by Lynne Berard '93 and Samsonite, as well as Nike and Titleist. Participants at the event had the opportunity to meet Athletic Director Bob Driscoll and interact with coaches and student-athletes at various holes on the course. Following golf, a dinner and live auction was held where Head Softball Coach Kerri Jacklets '01, Head Men's Ice Hockey Coach Nate Leaman and Head Men's Basketball Coach Ed Cooley spoke to the guests.

The 2017 Hannoush Jewelers Donor of the Year was presented to Michael St. Martin from Aero Mechanical whose leadership and support of this event for over 10 years has helped us to raise a significant amount of money to aid in the transformation of Friar Athletics.

The winning foursome group from Shamrock Financial will travel to Pinehurst Country Club to compete in the annual Acura College Alumni Championship in October.
