Men's Lacrosse Jarrod Neumann And Tate Boyce Named To Preseason All-New England Teams

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - On Feb. 9, the New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (NEILA) announced its All-New England Preseason Teams. For the second-consecutive year, senior defenseman Jarrod Neumann (Springfield, Mass.) was named to the All-New England First Team. Sophomore goaltender Tate Boyce (Matthews, N.C.) was named to the Second Team.

At the conclusion of the 2016 season, Neumann was named to the NEILA All-New England Second Team. He also received All-BIG EAST First Team honors for the for a second-consecutive season (2015, 2016). Neumann played an integral role in the Friars' appearance in the BIG EAST Championship. It marked the first time in program history that Providence had qualified for a post-season berth since the league began sponsoring lacrosse in 2010.

Boyce led the Friars in goal and started each of the Friars' 16 games as a freshman. He recorded 185 saves for a .526 save percentage and a 10.71 goals-against average. Boyce nabbed All-BIG EAST First Team honors in 2016, marking the first freshman from Providence to earn All-BIG EAST honors in lacrosse.
